KAWS: DOWN TIME – High Museum of Art – Atlanta
On February 16th I went to the opening of the exhibition KAWS: DOWN TIME at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. It was a beautiful opening of work by the artist Brian Donnelly, more commonly known as KAWS. Brian is a Brooklyn based artist whose work encompasses a diverse variety of media from painting and sculpture, to editioned toys and other objects often produced in collaboration with designers and other artists. The exhibition was curated by my partner Michael Rooks, the Wieland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High.

Brian signed books, photos, objects and various ephemera for the many fans and visitors who attended. A conversation between the artist and curator took place in the Alliance Theatre prior to the exhibition’s opening.
