Costa Rica – Reptiles

This morning I was clicking through photos on my computer, while attempting to organize the seven thousand pictures stored in there. As I was plowing through those images, I came across some of the photos I’ve taken in the rain forest in Costa Rica and I thought I would post some of them here.

These are all pictures of reptiles I find in the jungle, or on the porch at night, around the lights that are swarming with insects like the ones from this earlier post? Sometimes they’re in the kitchen in the afternoon, or on the highway.

Usually I take a walk in the late afternoon when the jungle is quiet and the foliage still, just before the birds start their pre-sundown singing and feeding. I like that time of day, after a nap and a few hours in the hammock with a book. It looks dark in most of these pictures, but not many of them are really taken at night, except the boa which was on my friend Helen’s chicken house at Suital Lodge where I have stayed many nights.
